On June 17, 2016, Lead Plaintiff Dawn Jones, on behalf of herself and those similarly situated, filed a class and collective action lawsuit in United States District Court – Southern District of New York, Dawn Jones v. Strategic Financial Solutions LLC, and Pioneer Law Firm, PC. The complaint alleges as follows: Ms. Jones began working for Defendants around August of 2013 through January 2015. Throughout each week of her employment with Defendant, Plaintiff worked in excess of forty hours per week. However, during her employment, Defendants failed to pay Plaintiff the proper overtime compensation at the statutorily-required overtime rate of pay for any hour that she worked per week over forty hours as the New York Labor Law, New York Compensation Codes Rules and Regulations, and the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act requires. In addition, Defendants failed to furnish Ms. Jones with accurate wage statements and wage notices on each payday.
